To Hamilton
The ride to Hamilton went well. It only ended up taking me two days to get here though. I averaged around 80km a day and biked for around five hours a day. So, no big. Getting out of Auckland truly sucked though. there really was not a good way out and I had a lot of trouble finding the Great South Road. I kept asking directions, but the Kiwi accent really trips me up so I would understand the first bit and then have to ask directions a few minutes later. Still once I got on the road it was all good. I met up with another cyclist outside of Auckland and we rode together to Pokoe where we stoped for the night in the niceist motel I have ever been in. Really posh designer bathroom. Had a couple of pints and the next morning he headed back to Auckland while I continued on down HWY 1 through Huntley and got to Hamilton around 4 pm. I am staying at Js Backpackers which is a sweet victorian style house. There are quite a few travlers here and I will continue on after boxing day so as to avoid the drunk traffic. Anywho, thats all for now. Happy holidays to everyone :) !!

Hey Girl,
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas. Dad, Josh, and I just got back from see "The Day the Earth Stood Still." As you would say to me Lu, "It's a movie mom, don't make too much out of it."
Glad you know to stay off the roads on boxing day.
Love you,
MOM DAD JOSH
