Old As

I am sooooo old now! Or I feel that way anyway. 24 seems like a big number, and yes I know many of you out there are thinking 24!!! she needs to shut her noise about that! But for me, this is yet again another reminder that there are things I need to get to doing. Life will not wait! Seize the moment! Speaking of which, I had a wonderful birthday:) Ended up going on a pub crawl in ChCh. Some peeps that do the crawl (Happy Js Pub Crawl) came around while I was hanging in the Backpackers kitchen, so I put down my name and dragged two of the other boys in my dorm out with me. Very nice fellows one of whom was aslo having his B-Day (seriously I checked the passport). So we went out and enjoyed the birthday benefit, mostly that you don't pay for your own drinks that night! Really fun, got to check out 5 bars in ChCh, the best of which was the Yellow Cross, good live music and located in Sol Square, got to go upstairs for the full enjoyment. Was a good time. I also finally managed to drop in to the half pipe for the first time on Friday, so I was really stoked that night! Dressed up a little like rainbow bright for the occasion :) Had a great time and then in the morning got out of bed to meet up with Tubby and Kerry to catch a ride back to Timaru. I was soooo shocked by how big the calves have gotten since I left. They are at least twice the size. Also the dogs are gone :( But no worries the calf I named 'Rug' comes when you call and is super cuddley, too bad he is destined for the freezer. Never had a pet that was going to be eaten before, kinda weird, but strangely enough it doesn't bother me. Guess I am turning into a farm girl already. Well, today has also been productive, finished a hat for Jono, went shopping, bought my season pass for Mt. Dobson (!!!!woot!!!!), got a bale of hay out to the cows, and other odds and ends around the farm. Will get up to more tomorrow :) I love this place. Even have my own room.
Cheers All!

  1. I guess you really are a grownup, accepting the fact that the calf will get eaten. I remember when Sam figured out that if there was a sheep skin in the house that there was no longer a sheep grazing in the field.
Speaking for dogs thought, Chubby and Bill were at the hunt club for the weekend and both got a summer haircut, they are big time hairless, even Bills scruffy ear hair is gone.
Well Lucy, I actually did it this morning and road the blue bike to Curves. Man was I huffing, I have some major workouts to do. My plan is every morning, dogs to the bottoms, home, get the bike, go to Curves, exercise and then home for a shower and off to do stuff.

"I do love my grown up kids." I am beginning to think about how to spend 6 hours in San Francisco on July 13.

  2. Happy Belated Birthday --

Sounds like you had a good time, which is - in the words of Martha Stewart - " a good thing".

I am heading out on Thursday to escort (move) your cousin and his wife back home to Edwardsville.

The most recent good news, besides that, is Nathan accepted a job in Maryville and starts in late June. So both he and Amanda, are gainfully employed.

In the meantime, we are all doing well in E-ville mostly living life. I am thankful for the internet so that I can "minimally" keep up with what is happening for you. Keep safe and know that Aunt Jo, Courtney and I are thinking about you.

    Love UBob, AJo and C.

  3. I just discovered the pathway to your photos. I keep checking those that automatically post on your site and have been thinking -- there's nothing new.

So in a small voice, UBob says oh. And is busy enjoying catching up on what I've been missing, vicariously of course.

BTW. I just watched the video on the big drop. Way cool.

    Love UBob, AJo and C.

  4. Hey Lucy...

My previous comment stated that I found the pathway to your photo's that I apparently couldn't find before.

Well guess what? Damned if I can find the pathway to the most recent photos. Your link to photos does not update. Yet I recall a back door to them. Soooooo. Help an old beloved, befuddled Uncle out and point out the obvious to me. How do I find the most recent pictures?

    Love,

    Dazzed and confused Old UBob
